MUNICIPAL “ACCESS FOR ALL” COMMITTEES
-Contact New Jersey Association of
County Disability Services 201-336-6500 (Voice) or 201-336-6505 (TTY).

The NJACDS, Inc. is promoting the establishment of municipal “Access for All Committees”. These committees are comprised of town residents with various disabilities and representatives of municipal departments, such as parks and recreation. They work in concert with mayor and council to provide guidance regarding the towns responsibilities mandated under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Countys’ Office on Disability Services can assist in establishing these committees by providing guidelines, sample resolutions and examples of committee by-laws, from towns with established committees.

Municipalities that have established Access Committees share experiences and strategies that will ensure residents with various disabilities have access to municipal recreation and services. This initiative provides access that benefits all residents.
