Re: Governor Issues Executive Order Activing Emergency Management Assistance Compact for multi-state mutual aid to Puerto Rico
Late this afternoon Governor Christie issued Executive Order 233 mobilizing New Jersey’s state, municipal, county, and private resources to provide mutual aid to Puerto Rico in response to Hurricane Maria. Executive Order 233 directs the State Director of Emergency Management to implement the State Emergency Operations Plan and the activation of county and municipal emergency operations plans as necessary to identify resources that are available for response.
In addition, the National Guard Armories in West Orange and Mount Holly will be open on Monday to serve as donation centers for elected officials, community leaders and organizations to drop off suggested collected items. To schedule a drop off please call 1-833-NJ-HELPS.
