Senator Cory Booker has announced the Fiscal Year 2025 Congressionally Directed Spending application process is open. The deadline to submit an application to his office is March 25, 2024.
Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) directs specified amounts of money to state and local governments or to eligible non-profit entities for a specific project at a specific location.
There are no guarantees that CDS requests will be funded. The process in which appropriations bills are considered, finalized, and signed into law can take many months. Even if a project is requested by Sen. Booker and selected by the Senate Appropriations Committee, all CDS funding is contingent upon the enactment of FY25 appropriations bills.
Specific guidance for FY25 is not yet available. You can review the FY24 guidance, as well as the FAQs from the Senator’s office prior to submitting an application.
Senator Menendez and the House of Representatives have yet to announce their process or deadlines. We will share that information when it becomes available.
