While supportive of the additional resources targeting improvements to the mitigation and remediation of PFAS contamination, the League, along with our partners at the National League of Cities (NLC), is advocating for the inclusion of liability protection for municipal drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utilities, landfills and solid waste facilities, airports, and fire departments.
The EPW Committee is accepting stakeholder comments on the draft legislation and has extended the comment period through Friday, July 7. The NLC has created a campaign that allows state leagues and individual municipalities to easily register their support for liability protections for local governments, along with other crucial improvements to the draft legislation.
