The New Jersey State Council on the Arts (Arts Council) is providing funds through The Creative Aging Initiative Grant (CAI) in the amount of $10,000 for eligible arts organizations, libraries, veterans homes, and senior and community centers to cover costs for arts learning experiences with New Jersey older adults aged 55 and over. The Arts Council was created in the late sixties as a New Jersey Department of State division and a National Endowment for the Arts partner agency. Its establishment is to support, encourage, and foster public interest in the arts, promote freedom of expression in the arts, and facilitate the inclusion of art and more in public buildings of New Jersey. The grant is an arts-based learning experience that will directly impact older adults in skill building and development. The Arts Council is prioritizing geographic diversity in this grant program. The grant period runs from January 1 to December 31, 2024, and multi-county or state-wide impact is optional for this program.
