The New Jersey Department of Labor Workforce Development's (NJDOL) Workplace Accountability in Labor List (WALL) is now available.
This list includes entities found to be in violation of New Jersey's wage, benefit, and tax laws. Entities listed on the WALL are barred from contracting with any contracting unit until they have resolved their obligations stemming from these violations.
A DLGS Local Finance Notice will be issued soon with further guidelines for local governments. In the meantime, entities governed by the Local Public Contracts Law and Public Schools Contract Law must cross-check potential contractors and vendors with the WALL before awarding contracts that exceed the quote threshold. A contract cannot be awarded to those listed on the WALL.
Contracting units must continue to consult relevant debarment lists during procurement. It is crucial to understand that even if an entity is removed from the WALL, other reasons might deem them unsuitable for public contracts, such as a debarment period under the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act.
For questions about the WALL or the status of a specific entity in relation to it, reach out to the NJDOL Office of Strategic Enforcement and Compliance at or call 609-376-4952.
