On Monday the Assembly favorably reported A-3937, and on Thursday, the Senate Labor Committee favorably reported S-3663. These bills require employers to announce, post, or otherwise make known all opportunities for promotion to all current employees and would also require disclosure of compensation in employment listings.
The League opposes this legislation because the objectives are already subject to collective bargaining and addressed through the New Jersey Employer-Employee Relations Act, which establishes the Public Employment Relations Commission.
Each bill may be posted for a full vote in each chamber before the end of the session on January 9.
