FEMA has announced $500 million, with a maximum award of $150 million, in the federal FY24 STORM Revolving Loan Program. The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM) is applying for the FY24 Safeguarding Tomorrow Revolving Loan (STORM RLF) grant again. This funding opportunity permits the State to obtain additional grant funding to complement the federal FY23 $6,462,963 funding. The funds may be used to provide loans to finance various types of hazard mitigation projects to reduce risks from natural hazards and disasters.
A full description of the program can be found in the Notice of Funding Opportunity. Additionally, NJOEM is soliciting ideas from local governments to assist with the development of a list of eligible hazard mitigation projects.
Written comments and questions on the proposal and any ideas for project proposals should be sent directly to the NJOEM Hazard Mitigation Unit at mitigation@njsp.gov by April 28, 2024.
