Environmental Education Grant Opportunity

Grants Posted on February 11, 2026

A new federal funding opportunity is available through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s Environmental Education Grant Program. This grant program supports local- and regional-focused environmental education projects designed to increase public awareness, build environmental literacy, and promote community stewardship. Funded projects should help participants develop the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions that protect human health and the environment, with an emphasis on measurable educational outcomes. Eligible applicants include municipalities, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, and other qualifying entities

The EPA anticipates awarding approximately $3.2 million in total funding, with individual awards generally ranging from $200,000 to $250,000 for project periods of up to two years. We encourage applicants to review the full Notice of Funding Opportunity on Grants.gov for eligibility requirements, project priorities, and the March 3 application deadlines before applying.
