Municipal Liability Standard Law Correction Signed

Today, Governor Murphy signed into law A-5392, which establishes new liability standards in sexual abuse lawsuits filed against public entities and public employees. The League supported this bill, which is a technical amendment to P.L. 2019, c. 120 necessary to apply the same standards to public employees and entities as will be applied to private, non-profit organizations.

The League would like to thank the Governor and sponsors of this legislation, Senators Vitale and Scutari, and Assemblywomen Quijano and Murphy, for their work on this important issue.
