DLGS Issues LFN Regarding Changes to Pay-To-Play Laws
The Division of Local Government Services (DLGS) has issued Local Finance Notice 2023-14 (LFN 2023-14) identifying key changes to the state’s pay-to-play laws after the enactment of P.L. 2023, c. 30, known as the “Elections Transparency Act.”

Enforcement of Russia-Belarus Law Temporarily Suspended

Governor Murphy Signs Law Extending School Bus Service Life
Governor Murphy recently signed A-5329/S-3734, P.L. 2023 c.144, extending the service life of school buses to 20 years and extends the service life of Type S school buses.

Governor Signs Bill Requiring Online PWCR & Payroll Certificates
Governor Murphy signed into law S-1442/A-5345, which requires public works contractor registration and payroll certification for public works projects to be completed online. P.L. 2023, c. 138 will take effect next year.

Governor Murphy Signs Boardwalk Preservations Fund
Governor Murphy has signed P.L.2023, c.136 into law which establishes the Boardwalk Preservation Fund and appropriates $100 million for renovation and repair costs.

Applications Open for Brownfields Redevelopment Incentive Program
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) is accepting applications for the Brownfields Redevelopment Incentive Program. The $300 million competitive program offers up to $8 million in tax credits for the redevelopment of brownfield sites.
