Governor Names Jaquelyn Suárez as Acting DCA Commissioner

Governor Murphy has named Division of Local Government Services Director Jacquelyn Suárez as Acting Department of Community Affairs Commissioner. The Governor has indicated that he will formally make the nomination when the Senate reconvenes later this year.

Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement & Recycled Materials Bill Signed

Acting Governor Tahesha Way signed into law A-4797/S-3255, which concerns the percentage of reclaimed asphalt pavement and recycled materials that can be used for certain road projects. P.L. 2023, c.160 takes effect in March 2024.

New Workplace Accountability in Labor List (WALL) Now Live

The Workplace Accountability in Labor List (WALL) is now available on the NJDOL website. Prior to awarding contracts, contracting units must review this list of entities ineligible for public contracting.

Federal Budget Deadline Looms on September 30

The federal fiscal year ends on September 30. Without an adopted and signed budget by this date, there may be a government shutdown. Expectations are tempered by disagreements among Congress and the Administration about spending priorities.
