Pass Resolution Protecting Local Zoning from Home Based Business Bill
Last month, the Assembly passed A-2623, by a vote of 65-3, the "Home Based Jobs Creation Act," which would permit a family home business to exist in a residential zone as an accessory use and not require a use variance pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-70.

DLGS Releases 2024/2025 Municipal State Aid Payment Schedule

SHBC Set to Act on 17.2% Local Government Health Benefits Increase
On July 29, the State Health Benefits Commission is set to act on Plan Year 2025 rate recommendations, which includes a 17.2% increase for local governments in the State Health Benefits Plan.

Lead Paint Inspection Reporting Due July 22 to DCA
The Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is reminding municipalities of the July 22 deadline to submit their lead-based paints hazard inspection reports and has introduced a portal for submitting reports.

DCA Developing Affordable Housing Reporting System
The Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has announced that it is in the process of developing an online reporting system for municipalities’ use to comply with their residential and non-residential development fee reporting requirements.

Public Work Certified Payroll Record Submit Online Starts Aug. 15
Starting August 15, Public Works Contractors must submit certified payroll records via NJ Wage Hub. Public Agencies will need to have a NJ Wage Hub account.
