Biography
Lori Buckelew has been with NJLM since September 2009, joining as a Legislative Analyst and becoming a Senior Legislative Analyst in 2010. During her tenure at the League, she has coordinated the Women in Municipal Government committee as well as the Finance Committee of the League’s Legislative Committee.
Duties
She assumed the duties of Assistant Executive Director on July 1, 2020. As assistant executive director, Buckelew is responsible for general administration and multiple complex programs and services offered by the New Jersey State League of Municipalities, the NJLM Educational Foundation, and the 222 West State Street Urban Renewal Corporation.
She also serves as the Director of Government Affairs, representing the League at the State House as a registered lobbyist.
Past Work & Education
Prior to joining NJLM, Lori worked for several municipalities, including Deputy Municipal Clerk in Maplewood, Township Clerk in Long Hill, and City Clerk in Lambertville. She also worked as Assistant to the Deputy Director and Director of the Division of Local Government Services.
In addition, Lori is a Registered Municipal Clerk and has a B.A. in Political Science and Criminal Justice as well as an M.P.A. in Public Administration from Kean University.
