The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has announced its Community Energy Plan Grant (“CEPG”) program, which will provide $900,000 in funding for municipalities to develop localized energy plans. All municipalities are eligible to receive grant awards of $10,000, with Overburdened Municipalities (OBM) eligible to receive grant awards of $25,000.
The CEPG allows municipalities to develop energy plans that address local needs while supporting the State’s energy goals outlined in the New Jersey Energy Master Plan. To be considered for funding, municipalities must complete and submit an application through SAGE. Applicants can access a CEPG grant guidance packet at www.njcleanenergy.com/cep, and for any additional questions, email Community.energy@bpu.nj.gov.
The application deadline is Friday, July 11, 2025, no later than 5:00 p.m.
