This Sunday, August 31, is the deadline for interested parties to challenge the validity of a municipality’s Housing Element and Fair Share Plan. Earlier this year, municipalities had to first adopt a binding resolution after the publication of the DCA report, report to DCA on the status of all Non-Residential and Residential Development Fees collected and expended from the previous year, then establish deadlines for interested parties to challenge a municipalities obligation numbers, settle municipal obligation disputes, and adopt and endorse a Housing Element and Fair Share Plan.
As a reminder, the League is holding regular informational Zoom meetings open to the municipalities that sought to modify their obligations or who may have a challenge filed against their Housing Element and Fair Share Plan. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 28, at 2 p.m. If you are from one of these municipalities and did not get an invitation to a previous meeting and would like to join Thursday’s session, please email Paul Penna.
