[ARCHIVED] US Department of Justice Funding Opportunities Available

The Bureau of Justice Assistance in the U.S. Department of Justice announced two funding opportunities for which municipalities are eligible to apply. Each has multiple deadlines at both grants.gov and Justgrants.gov.

Swift, Certain, and Fair (SCF) Supervision Program: Applying the Principles Behind Project HOPE

Applications are sought for FY 2023 Swift, Certain, and Fair (SCF) Supervision Program: Applying the Principles Behind Project HOPE funding for state, local, and tribal community supervision agencies to develop and test new or enhanced applications of the swift, certain, and fair (SCF) principles of intervention to reduce recidivism and improve outcomes for people on community supervision. Under this solicitation, “community supervision agencies” which includes adult probation, parole, or pretrial supervision or their equivalents such as prosecutor-led, post-adjudication diversion. The grants.gov deadline to apply is April 18, and the justgrants.gov deadline is April 25.   

Preparing for Active Shooter Situations (PASS) Program 

The Fiscal Year 2023 Preparing for Active Shooter Situations (PASS) Program is designed to meet the goal of the 2016 Protecting Our Lives by Initiating COPS Expansion (POLICE) Act in offering “scenario-based, integrated response courses designed to counter active shooter threats or acts of terrorism against individuals or facilities."

The program will fund a provider who can provide nationwide training to at least 20,000 first responders over the course of the award through scenario-based, multidisciplinary training classes. The training should be available to any jurisdiction in the U.S. and delivered in the desired location of the requesting agency, to include law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS). The grants.gov application deadline is April 14 and the justgrants.gov application deadline is April 21.
