Applications are open for the Local Recreation Improvement Grant (LRIG) Program. This competitive grant program supports improvement and repair of public recreation facilities including local parks, municipal recreation centers, and local stadiums. The FY25 State budget allocated $20 million in competitive grants for municipalities, counties, and school districts.
Applications must be submitted through the NJDCA SAGE Portal and are due no later than 5:00 p., on Friday, January 31, 2025. There are no extensions. Applicants who do not already have a NJSTART Vendor ID number are required to complete a W9 form and will also need to complete an ACH form for electronic receipt of grant funds. The following items are required to be submitted with the Local Recreation Improvement Grant:
- Grant application.
- Governing body resolution.
- Project narrative.
- Detailed proposed project budget.
- Letter certifying that the applicant maintains ownership of the property where improvements are being made.
