Municipalities can apply for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s FY25 National Fish Passage Program (NFPP), which offers up to $1 million per project from a $10 million total fund to support dam removals, culvert upgrades, floodplain restoration, and fishway installations. Eligible applicants include municipalities, county governments, tribal entities, special districts, nonprofits, schools, small businesses, and individuals. Proposals must be coordinated with regional NFPP staff and submitted on a rolling basis by December 31, 2025.
