The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) has announced the FY25 Prosecuting Cold Cases Using DNA grant program, geared at helping law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies resolve violent crimes that have remained unsolved. This funding opportunity is specifically designed for cases where a suspect DNA profile has already been developed.
Municipal and county prosecutors are encouraged to apply for funding to support activities such as case review, forensic analysis, investigative work, and trial preparation. The goal is to increase the likelihood of successful prosecutions or other appropriate resolutions, while enhancing public safety and delivering justice for victims and their families. Eligible applicants include state, Tribal, and local government agencies. The grant offers up to $500,000 per award, and applications must be submitted by November 3, 2025.
Full details and application instructions are available on the BJA official website.
